To be nominated for Academic All-America, a student-athlete must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher, be a starter or important reserve, and be a sophomore or higher in academic standing and athletic eligibility.

Wildcat sophomore linebacker Justin Haydock also earned a nomination for Academic All-America, but was not elected to the All-District Team. Haydock has a 3.33 GPA with a major in business marketing. He has made 22 tackles and two pass breakups this season.

Between the third and fourth quarter, Dr. Todd will honor students who participated in the 2002 Bucks for Brains Summer Research Program. Twenty-two students were involved in areas such as marketing, engineering, pharmacy, and biochemistry.
