The University of Kentucky gymnastics team will travel to Beard-Eaves Coliseum in Auburn, Ala., on Friday, Feb. 21, to face the 15th-ranked Tigers at 8 p.m ET. The GymKats are looking to rebound from a 196.600-194.050 defeat at the hands of No. 4 Georgia last weekend in Lexington.
Kentucky (4-7, 0-4 SEC) must begin making its push toward the post-season at this critical away meet. With the season half over, the GymKats stand at No. 37 in the nation, nearly a full point out of the top 25. UK has been led this season by its vault lineup, which ranks 14th overall and second in the NCAA Central Region. The Cats team total ranks them eighth regionally, two spots out of contention for the Regional Championship.
Junior Aronda Primault and senior Julia Gore are coming off season-best performances last weekend in the all-around, where they posted scores of 39.300 and 39.200, respectively. Primault won her third all-around title of the season, while Gore’s first-place finish on the uneven bars also was her third such result.
The Auburn Tigers (9-3, 2-1) defeated conference-rival Arkansas, No. 21 Missouri and Centenary last weekend, posting a score of 196.300, their highest total in school history at Beard-Eaves Coliseum. The UK-AU series is Kentucky’s most successful in the SEC. The Cats hold a 29-15 advantage all-time over Auburn.

The Wildcats will remain on the road next weekend as they travel to Provo, Utah, to face Brigham Young on Friday, Feb. 28, at 9 p.m. ET. Earlier this season, Kentucky defeated BYU in Lexington, 194.075-192.475.
