The University of Kentucky baseball team (3-3, 0-0 SEC) travels to Birmingham, Ala., this weekend, Friday, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 1, to play three games at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. The Cats will take on Marshall, Eastern Illinois and the host school on three consecutive days.
The Bat Cats come off a weekend that saw them go 1-2 at the Charleston Crab House Challenge in Charleston, S.C. UK dropped a 3-1 decision to the host Citadel Bulldogs on Friday, Feb. 21 and came back to defeat Boston College, 5-4, on Saturday, Feb. 22. The Wildcats fell to No. 15 Richmond, 11-10, on Sunday to move their record to 3-3 on the young season.
UK will return home after the weekend to start its home slate on Wed., March 5 against East Tennessee St. The opening game this weekend in Birmingham will pit the Cats against Marshall (2-3, 0-0 MAC) on Friday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m. est.
