AUSTIN, Texas – University of Kentucky senior track and field athlete Simidele Adeagbo broke the school record in the triple jump at the Texas Relays on Saturday, April 5 with a leap of 44-05.00. Adeagbo owned the previous record set in 2002 of 42-11.00.

The Louisville, Ky., native has enjoyed a storybook senior season so far, earning All-America honors in indoor action while establishing personal bests several times over the course of the winters season.

Also performing well at the prestigious meet on Saturday was redshirt junior Ernest Simms, who took home fifth place in the university division of the men’s 100-meter dash with a time of 10.29, a personal best and a regional qualifying mark.

Rounding out UK’s competitors on Saturday was the women’s 4 x 200-meter relay team which placed 12th overall with a time of 1:38.45.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, April 11 at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
