Lexington, Ky. –

The University of Kentucky baseball team will take a break from Southeastern Conference action to play host to Wright State on Tuesday, April 8. Kentucky (12-18, 1-10 SEC) looks to build on the momentum it gained from defeating No. 5 Mississippi State (24-5-1, 9-2 SEC) on Saturday, April 5, in Starkville. That win was UK’s first in Southeastern Conference play this spring.

Wright State (8-17, 0-4 Horizon) enters the contest after being swept by Butler in its first Horizon Conference series. The Raiders have lost five of their last six games.

The Cats trail Wright State, 4-6, in the all-time series between the two. The last time the teams met was in 1992, when they split a home-and-home series, with each winning on the other’s field. Kentucky defeated Wright State, 6-5, in Dayton, while the Raiders downed the Cats, 10-3, in Lexington.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m. EST at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The Cats will send junior Seth Stanley (2-4) to the mound. Stanley was the scheduled starter for the third game of the weekend series with Mississippi State, but that game was cancelled due to rain.
