The 12th-ranked Kentucky men’s tennis team (16-10, 6-5) will wrap up its regular season Sunday when the Wildcats play host to 60th-ranked Notre Dame (7-11) on Senior Day. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT at UK’s Boone Tennis Complex.
Kentucky will bid farewell to senior Elliott Datlow in a brief ceremony about 15 minutes before the match. Datlow has amassed a 37-47 singles record and an 8-13 doubles tally in his four seasons with the Cats.
UK is looking to close regular-season play with a strong showing after a tough 6-1 loss Friday at Vanderbilt. Alex Hume provided the scoring for the Cats with the 30th victory of his freshman season.
Notre Dame, coming off of a victory over Ball State Wednesday, features the ITA’s 97th-ranked student-athlete, Luis Haddock. A year ago, the Cats defeated the Fighting Irish in South Bend by a 4-1 count.
Upon completion of Sunday’s match, the Wildcats will prepare for the SEC Men’s Tennis Championships, to be played April 17-20 at the University of Mississippi.
