LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Kentucky track and field team performed well in the shortened University of Louisville Cardinal Open on Friday, April 25 at Cardinal Park Track Stadium. The UK women took the top three spots in the discus, one of only 11 events to be completed.
Ildiko Varga took first place in the discus with a toss of 163-09.00, while teammate Gennessa Guzman finished second with a distance of 161-01.00. Molly Lonergan wrapped up the top-three with a throw of 154-11.00.
In the women’s hammer, UK’s Nicole Allyn took third place with a 159-09.00 throw. The last UK competitor on Friday was Tony Tzouanakis, who took second in the men’s shot put with a throw of 50-10.75.
Storms rolling into the area in the evening caused 31 events to go uncontested.
