PALO ALTO, Calif. – The University of Kentucky track & field squads closed out the 2003 season on Thursday, June 19 at the USA Track & Field Championships in Palo Alto, Calif. Three Wildcats competed in the opening round of the 800 meters on Thursday, though none advanced to Friday’s action.

Beth Heimann just missed the cut for the women, taking 18th in the opening round with a time of 2:07.43. Teammates David Freeman and Hunter Spencer took 20th and 22nd in the men’s race, respectively. Freeman crossed the line in 1:50.42, while Spencer registered a time of 1:51.37.

This concludes the season for the UK track athletes. They enjoy a brief break before returning to action as cross country season begins in late August.
