Not included on the list was Artose Pinner, the 2003 fourth-round pick of the Detroit Lions, who is not on the active roster because of injury.
The list of Wildcats who were on the active roster on open day includes:
Tim Couch, Cleveland Browns
Otis Grigsby, Miami Dolphins
Dennis Johnson, Arizona Cardinals
Eric Kelly, Minnesota Vikings
Quentin McCord, Atlanta Falcons
Marlon McCree, Jacksonville Jaguars (now with the Houston Texans)
Todd Perry, Miami Dolphins
Dewayne Robertson, New York Jets
James Whalen, Dallas Cowboys
Moe Williams, Minnesota Vikings
Marchman Getting a Look on Defense: Wildcat freshman Maurice Marchman has moved to free safety this week as the Wildcat coaching staff takes a look at him at that position.
Marchman has played all four games as a wide receiver and on special teams. He has caught one pass for 25 yards and made eight tackles on special teams.
“Maurice had done a very good job at side receiver but we have quite a few players at those positions,” Coach Rich Brooks said. “Maurice showed really good instincts on our punt coverage and kickoff coverage teams and he agreed to take a look at going over there (to defense).
“Physically, he has good size and has the ability to close on receivers. We’re hoping he’ll be able to contribute at free safety as soon as he learns the position.”
Defensive backs coach Steve Brown likes the addition to his group.
“Maurice is very athletic and tough,” Brown said. “It’s tough to learn a new position in the middle of the season, but he’s adapting well.”
