The 15th-ranked University of Kentucky women?s tennis team kicks off its 2004 dual-match season Sunday morning with a match against Murray State. The start time is set for 10 a.m. at UK?s Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex. The Cats will meet Louisville in a 4 p.m. match.
Eighth-year Head Coach Mark Guilbeau welcomes nine newcomers to the 2004 Wildcat squad, including the ITA?s 23rd-ranked player, junior Aibika Kalsarieva. The transfer from the NAIA?s Lewis & Clark State tallied an 18-3 fall record in defeating several of the top players in collegiate women?s tennis.
Kentucky returns one letter winner, junior Danielle Petrisko, from the 2003 squad that registered a 23-8 record, a No. 12 final ITA ranking and a NCAA Sweet 16 berth.
