The remaining Kentucky contingent at the SEC Indoors in Athens, Ga. fell out of contention Sunday, as Tigran Martirosyan fell just shy of the singles final and the doubles pair of Rahim Esmail and Jesse Witten was eliminated in its quarterfinal match.
Earlier Sunday, Martirosyan scored a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Georgia?s 54th-ranked Matias Ormaza in advancing to the singles semifinals. Martirosyan put forth a valiant effort against Vanderbilt?s 45th-ranked Zach Dailey but fell in three sets; 6-0, 5-7, 6-3.
Later in the day, Witten and Esmail dropped an 8-4 decision to Ole Miss? Claes Lindholm and Erik Claesson.
