The Kentucky baseball team is set to travel to Millington, Tenn., this weekend to take part in the Service Academy Invitational, played at the USA Baseball Stadium. The Cats will play Air Force on Friday at 1 p.m. (ET), Indiana on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Memphis on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Kentucky enters the weekend having won its last two games over Eastern Michigan to split a four-game series. The Wildcats defeated the Eagles, 8-6, on Tuesday to move their record to 4-2 on the season. Air Force comes into Friday?s game with a 2-4 record after defeating Southern Utah, 15-12, on Feb. 15. Indiana is 0-3 thus far in 2004, while Memphis stands at 1-1.
Kentucky won the only game it has ever played against Air Force, a 4-1 decision at the Service Academy Classic back in 1995. UK is 17-11 all-time against Indiana and 1-0 in the series with Memphis.
Sophomore Craig Snipp (0-1) will take the mound for UK on Friday afternoon and will be followed on Saturday by senior Seth Stanley (2-0). Sunday?s starter is yet to be determined.
