Senior Julie Joy and junior Michelle Gales are co-UK ?Gymnasts of the Week? for their performances this past weekend against No. 5 Florida.

Joy competed in the All-Around for the first time this season and registered a 39.125. The senior recorded season-highs on bars (9.875), beam (9.750) and floor exercise (9.850). She also competed for the first time in vault, registering a 9.650.

?Julie really stepped up for us,? Coach ?Mo? Muhammad said. ?She has meant a lot to this program and I?m proud of the way she responded in leading this team in times of adversity.?

Gales tied a personal best All-Around of 39.400 to finish second overall against the Gators. She took home her second floor title with a 9.900 performance and tied her personal best on bars (9.875) to finish tied with Joy for third in the event. Gales ranks second on the team on vault, second on bars, third on beam and is tied for first on floor exercise. She is currently ranked sixth in the All-Around in the Central Region.
