UK sophomore Laura Graham landed a top-20 finish Friday to lead Kentucky at the 2004 NCAA Women?s Swimming and Diving Championships in College Station, Texas.
Graham, the Kentucky record holder in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events, completed the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:09.66, finishing just shy of the consolation final to take 20th place. Graham is slated for the 200-meter breaststroke on Saturday, the final day of competition.
Junior Jessica Siegele made her NCAA championship debut Friday, clocking a 1:01.38 to take 31st in the 100-meter butterfly and a 1:02.34 in the 100-meter backstroke for a 35th-place showing.
Sophomore Jessica Thompson participated in the second diving event in as many days, placing 36th in the three-meter diving event with a score of 249.15. Thompson is set for Saturday?s platform diving competition.
