Lexington, (Ky.) ? After winning two out of three last weekend in Auburn, Ala., the Kentucky baseball team stands in a four-way tie atop the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference heading into this weekend?s three-game series with the Florida Gators, one of the three teams tied with UK. Kentucky, which fell to Marshall in a 6-2 game on Wednesday night, stands at 14-7 overall, while the Gators come to Lexington with a 21-5 mark.

UK head coach John Cohen spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for Pat McMahon at Florida. Cohen puts no added significance to this series, however.

?I think this is a great chance to catch up with some old friends, but once the game starts this is just another series in the Southeastern Conference.? Cohen said. ?Florida has a great team and it?s good to see those guys succeeding, but we have to prepare ourselves to play and do the things necessary to win this series.?

Florida took two of three from Arkansas last weekend in Gainesville, sandwiching wins of 11-1 and 7-6 around an 8-2 loss. The Gators then disposed of Dartmouth, 11-6, on Wednesday night.

Kentucky defeated Florida, 7-5, in a come-from-behind victory in the final game of the 2003 season in Gainesville. The Wildcats dropped the first two games of that series and have lost 11 of the last 13 games to Florida. UK trails the all-time series, 48-113-1, between the two schools.
