The Kentucky track and field team wrapped up competition at the Texas Relays Saturday at Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. The Cats ended the three-day event with three top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish from Beth Heimann in the 1,500-meter run.
Heimann qualified for NCAA Regional competition with a personal-best time of 4:27.30 in the distance event. Caity Phillips finished the race 10th in 4:31.31, while teammate Leah Kerstetter came in 14th with a performance of 4:42.81.
Kris Landers was the only representative of the men’s team competing Saturday, as he barely missed a personal best in the mile with his ninth-place time of 4:10.96.
UK returns to action next weekend at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., and the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
