The Kentucky junior varsity women?s golf team is in a tie for eighth place at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky. Alanna Silvertrust leads the Cats with an eight-over 80 after the first round of play.
Stacy Springer finished one stroke behind Silvertrust with an 81, good enough for a share of 31st place. Maggie Gableman and Katie Johnson also competed for UK, carding rounds of 83 and 85, respectively.
UK is 28 shots behind leader Murray State. MSU?s Cuyler Hedley leads the pack after an 18-hole score of 70.
The Cats return to the fairways tomorrow morning for round two at the Arlington Golf Course.
