Wildcats look to leave 2004 on positive note

Lexington, (Ky.) ?- The Kentucky baseball team will wrap up its season this weekend when it travels to Nashville, Tenn., for a three-game Southeastern Conference series with the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Wildcats won their final home game of the season over Murray State, 9-1, on Wednesday, and enter the weekend with a 24-27 mark, including a 9-20 record in SEC play. The Commodores are 36-16, 13-14 in the SEC.

Kentucky leads the all-time sereis with Vandy, 128-117-5, a series that dates back to 1905. The Wildcats took two of three from the Commodores last season in Lexington, winning 5-1 on Saturday and 6-5 in 10 innings on Sunday. Vandy took the series the last time the two met in Nashville, back in 2002.

The series opens on Friday night at 8 p.m. (ET) in Nashville, and continues with a 4 p.m. start on Saturday, followed by a 2 p.m. first pitch in Sunday?s series finale.
