Kentucky sophomore Kim Coventry became the second Wildcat in as many seasons to capture the ?A? flight of the USTA Women?s College Tennis Invitational Monday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.

The native Australian capped her five-match run through the 32-player flight with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Harvard?s Preethi Mukundan in the final. The win comes a week after Coventry captured her first collegiate title last week in the red flight of the Kentucky Fall Invitational. UK senior All-American Aibika Kalsarieva claimed the 2003 USTA Women?s College Tennis Invitational on her way to becoming a quarterfinalist at the 2004 NCAA Singles Championships.

UK sophomore Caroline Winebrenner fell just shy in her bid for another title, dropping a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8) decision to Brown?s Michelle Pautler in the ?D? singles flight final.
