HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? The University of Kentucky women?s JV golf team recorded a third-place finish in the Lady Herd Fall Classic held at the Guyan Country Club in Huntington, W.Va. Junior Erin Faulkner tied her season-low round today after firing a 73 second round. Faulkner shot 150 (77-73) to land her third atop the leader board for the Cats.
Senior, Stacy Springer shot a season-low 76 moving up eight places from day one to finish T-13th. Katie Johnson also moved up the leader board to T-16th after carding 158 (81-77) for the tournament. Junior Chapin Hoskins recorded a season-low 76 to T-18th and Marissa Muir rounded out the five for Kentucky.
First day leader, Ohio University took the team and individual titles today after Sara Ann Palmer shot a tournament-low round 71.
The tournament was the third of the fall season for the UK JV team. The team captured the title at the EKU Invitational, eighth that the UK Wildcat Fall Invitational and third at the Lady Herd Fall Classic. The Lady Herd Fall Classic was shortened to a 36-hole format after rain cancelled the second round yesterday.
The Cats next travel to Sandestin, Fla. to compete in the Florida State ACC/SEC Challenge October 29-31.
