Sophomore Rachel Riley is the latest UK ?Gymnast of the Week? as chosen by the coaching staff. Riley helped the team record its highest opening meet team score in school history to defeat Bowling Green State 194.850 ? 190.150. She led the team with a 39.075 all-around and helped the team to a striking 49.000 score on beam. That score landed the Cats the third highest score in school history.

Muhammad said. ?Rachel is an extremely talented gymnast and I feel she has not come close to reaching her ability level. She will continue to challenge herself to be the best and help the team reach its goals.?

The Dallas, Texas native was the Wildcats? first competitor on the floor with a 9.800. Riley also recorded strong scores on vault (9.700), bars (9.775), beam (9.800) and floor (9.800).
