LEXINGTON ? Junior Vicki Goss and freshman Ray Geyer have been named the Kentucky Rifle Co-Shooters of the Week for leading the Wildcats to a close victory over Xavier.
It is the third time this year Geyer has earned the honor from coach Harry Mullins and the first for Goss.
Goss, a Palmyra, Pa., native, led Kentucky?s team score with a 586 on the air rifle course, her second best of the year. She also posted a 575 smallbore score.
Meanwhile, Geyer, a Georgetown, Ky., native, cracked the 580 plateau in both smallbore and air rifle. His 584 smallbore score paced the team while his 581 on air rifle was second to only to Goss.
Kentucky returns to action on Jan. 29 when it competes in the Winthrow Invitational at Murray, Ky.
