UK encounters quite a challenge from Northwestern. NU features not only the nation?s top-ranked singles player in freshman Audra Cohen, but Cohen also teams up with junior Cristelle Grier to form the top-ranked doubles tandem in the country. Cohen and Grier are joined in the singles rankings by sophomore Alexis Prousis at No. 49.
Kentucky counters Northwestern with the nation?s seventh-ranked singles player, senior All-American Aibika Kalsarieva, 30th-ranked sophomore Sarah Foster and 58th-ranked sophomore Kim Coventry. Kalsarieva and Foster enter the match as the ITA?s sixth-ranked doubles tandem, while Coventry and sophomore Joelle Schwenk follow closely behind at No. 11.
Northwestern dealt Kentucky a 6-1 defeat a season ago at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis., and the two teams could face each other again in the same event next week. NU holds a 5-2 series advantage against Kentucky.
