After a week-long layoff, Kentucky (6-3) heads to south Florida Sunday to take on Division II Florida Gulf Coast. The match is set for 12 p.m. EST in Ft. Myers, Fla.
The match will serve as a homecoming, of sorts, for UK senior Jesse Witten, a native of nearby Naples, Fla. The three-time All-American sports a 20-4 overall singles record and has won four-consecutive matches, including a straight-set win over top-ranked Ryler DeHeart of Illinois.
UK defeated Florida Gulf Coast last season by a 7-0 count in Ft. Myers. Florida Gulf Coast, the 17th-ranked team in NCAA Division II, is UK?s second Division-II opponent this season. UK blanked Abilene Christian earlier this month in Lexington.
