Incoming freshman golfer Dan Woltman has been selected to represent the East in the upcoming Canon Cup, which will take place Aug. 8-11 at the Capital City Club ? Crabapple Course in Woodstock, Ga.
?This is the culmination of a terrific last two years of junior golf and Dan is well-deserved to represent the East side in these matches,? said UK head coach Brian Craig. ?This is a great way to end his junior career before going onto bigger and better things.?
Earlier this summer, Woltman won his first American Junior Golf Association Invitational at the FootJoy Boys Invitational in Greensboro, N.C.
Canon Cup is a unique AJGA event that assembles 10 of the best boys and girls from each side of the Mississippi River in a three-day team competition.
Players are selected based on points that are earned through top finishes in AJGA and other select national junior golf events.
Captain Walker Hill and the East Team will be looking to defend the title it won in 2004 at Caves Valley Golf Club.
