Sophomore running back Rafael Little has been named to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award which is presented annually to the nation?s top running back.

Little has gotten off to a strong start. Through two games, he leads the team in rushing with 175 yards, with a then-career high 71 yards in the opener vs. Louisville, followed by another career high with 104 yards vs. Idaho State. He is averaging 6.5 yards per carry and his 51-yard run against Louisville is the longest rushing play in Governor?s Cup history. He also leads the team in pass receptions with nine.

And, of course, he scored the go-ahead touchdown in the Idaho State game with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 4:51 to go in the game.

Little, from Anderson, S. C., is UK?s top returning rusher from last season with 265 yards and a 5.0-yard average per carry in 2004.
