In this time of need due to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Kentucky women’s soccer team will be taking donations at this Friday’s (Sept. 23) Southeastern Conference opener against LSU for the Red Cross.
Red Cross and UK volunteers will be on hand to accept donations at the UK Soccer Complex. Clothing, toiletries, blankets and any other non-perishable items are encouraged.
?Any way we can help with this situation is something we want to do,? said head coach Warren Lipka. ?So many innocent people have all been affected by this tragedy and we need to make every effort to help.?
The UK-LSU contest is set to begin at 7:30, following a 5 p.m. match between the UK men and Western Michigan.
