The Kentucky men?s tennis team continues its fall season this Friday at the Virginia Fall Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. The tournament will consist of 15 schools and will be played on the campus of Virginia at the Snyder Tennis Center.
The Wildcats are coming off a successful opening tournament last weekend at Middle Tennessee State. Freshman Bruno Agostinelli, of Niagara Falls, Canada, won the first four matches of his collegiate career to take the men?s A2 singles flight bracket.
Senior Alex Hume, the 68th-ranked player in the nation, dropped his opening match before winning three straight to take the consolation bracket.
The 94th-ranked Nate Emge captured his first win of the season last Friday. On Saturday, Emge fell to top-seeded Erling Tveit of Ole Miss.
The UVa Fall Invitational will mark the first tournament that all seven members of the UK team will participate. Returning senior Carey Rubin will be in action and will be joined by freshmen Shane Collins, Kenny Hodge and Marcus Sundh.
?Our guys are really looking forward to having the whole team together for the first time,? head coach Dennis Emery said. ?For four of our guys, this is their first tournament and they are eager for action.?
