The Kentucky men?s tennis team recorded three more victories Sunday at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.
Senior Carey Rubin collected two victories and freshman Marcus Sundh added another win on the final day of competition at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
In his first match of the day, Rubin beat Vanderbilt?s Nathan Sachs in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Rubin then picked up his third win of the tournament by defeating Furman?s Andy Juc 5-7, 6-1, 6-1.
Sundh, a native of Sweden, beat Middle Tennessee?s Rishan Kuruppu in three sets 6-1, 5-7, 6-3, in his first mach of the day. Sundh ended his tournament run by falling in three sets to Tennessee?s Bobby Cameron 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
?This tournament was a really good chance for us to see how some of our guys are playing at this time of the year,? head coach Dennis Emery said. ?I think it was a good tournament for our guys because they got to play a lot of matches against quality competition.?
The UK men?s tennis team will return to action next weekend when they split their squad to play in two tournaments. Three players will head to the Region 3 Indoor Championships in Memphis, Tenn., on Thursday. Three other Wildcats will head to the Louisville Fall Classic beginning Friday.
