COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Kentucky juniors Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk concluded the opening day of the ITA National Collegiate Indoor Championships Thursday at the Racquet Club of Columbus.
Coventry and Schwenk lost their first-round doubles match to top-seeded Catrina and Christian Thompson of Notre Dame, 8-6. The duo will will play in the consolation bracket Friday at 9 a.m. against South Florida?s Gabriela Duch and Neyssa Etienne.
In singles action, the second-seeded Coventry dropped her first-round match to Zuzana Cerna of Baylor, 6-1, 6-3. Coventry will face Caitlin O?Keefe from Ohio State in the consolation bracket.
