LEXINGTON ? Former Kentucky goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum looks to become the first UK soccer player drafted by Major League Soccer on Friday when the league hosts its annual SuperDraft.

The draft, set to begin at Noon ET and televised live on Fox Soccer Channel (Insight channel 105 in Lexington), features four rounds in which each of the 12 MLS teams have a selection. The draft can also be followed live online at www.MLSnet.com.

Thursday, the MLS released a list of 121 players eligible for the 48 spots, including 10 goalies. The list comes on the heels of the scouting combine, where MLSnet.com?s Scott French named Gruenebaum as one of the ?top goalkeepers.? A year ago, four keepers were taken in the SuperDraft.

This past season, Gruenebaum was chosen first-team All-Conference USA and first-team All-Great Lakes Region after leading Conference USA with a 1.04 goals against average while posting five shutouts. He was a pre-season first-team All-American and the pre-season Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.

Over the summer, Gruenebaum competed for the Des Moines Menace of the Premier Development League and led the team to the PDL National Championship, being named the MVP of the title game. He also helped the menace to the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
