LEXINGTON ? Kentucky midfielder Michael D?Agostino competed with the Canada U-20 National Team from Jan. 7-11 in the prestigious Chivas Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Canada was grouped with four Mexican clubs and Italian giant Inter Milan and forced to play five games in as many days. After failing to make it on the pitch in the first game, D?Agostino started two of the final four while playing a majority of the other two as a reserve.
The Canadians were unable to move past group play as only the winner of each group advanced past the opening round.
It was the first action for the Canadian U-20 team as it prepares to host the FIFA Youth World Cup in 2007. Fellow UK standout Riley O?Neill was a member of Canada?s U-20 World Cup team in 2005.
