NOTES

School Record

Freshman Mary Durham broke the UK indoor pole vault record last week at the Hoosier Relays with a season-best jump of 11-7.75. Durham is less than two inches shy of the Kentucky record held by Liz Kitteridge, 11-9, 2002.

National Noise

The men?s 4×400 relay is not only ranked among the top squads in the SEC, but currently owns the ninth fastest mark in the country after breaking the McCravy Memorial (2/14) meet record in an NCAA provisional time of 3:09.31. Among the conference, the Cats currently sit behind LSU and Alabama. Trackwire.com ranks UK 11th nationally in the event.

Freshman Phenom Pt. I

Freshman thrower Ashley Muffet continues to get better after setting personal-bests in the shot put on back-to-back days at the Hoosier Relays. The North Canton, Ohio native placed first at last weekend?s meet with an NCAA provisional toss of 52-2.75 (third all-time UK). Muffet currently ranks second in the conference and 17th nationally in the event.

Freshman Phenom Pt. II

Freshman Gordon McKenzie continued to improved upon his stellar freshman campaign with a second place finish in the 60 at the Hoosier Relays. The Queens, N.Y. native also set a personal-best in the 200 with a time of 21.51, good for sixth all-time at UK.

Middle Distance Standout

Junior Georganne Way has made steady improvements in UK?s three meets this season. The Lititz, Pa. native has set personal-bests in the mile (4:51.37) and indoor 800 (2:10.19). Way needs to shave a little over four seconds of her time in the mile and one second in the 800 to earn provisional marks.
