SAN ANTONIO ? The Kentucky baseball team had its final game of the weekend against UT-San Antonio called off Sunday due to cold temperatures and rain in San Antonio.
The Wildcats wrapped up the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record with a pair of wins against Army and one victory over UT-San Antonio. Both teams earned a berth in an NCAA Regional last season.
Using solid pitching and an explosive offense, UK posted an average margin of victory of 7.3 runs. The pitching staff gave the team two quality starts in three outings and struck out 22 while walking just two in 27 innings of work.
Offensively, the team put together one inning of four runs or more in each of the three wins. Sophomore leadoff hitter Antone DeJesus sparked the Wildcats with a .417 average and three doubles while driving in six and scoring four times.
Next weekend, Kentucky travels to Beaumont, Texas for four games. The Wildcats are slated to face Arkansas State twice, Lamar and Michigan State on the trip.
