LEXINGTON ? The Kentucky men?s soccer team was named the UK Men?s Academic Team of the Year at the Catspy Awards on April 25.

The Wildcats had nine players earn SEC Academic Honor Roll averages for posting a grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the year. Twice in the past six years, the soccer team has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and received a Team Academic Award.

It is the second time in three years the men?s soccer team has earned a team Catspy. In 2004, the team was honored as the UK Men?s Team of the Year after winning the Mid-American Conference championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
