LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The Fall baseball season has officially begun for the Kentucky baseball team as they underwent an intra-squad scrimmage Sunday afternoon at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
On a beautiful day for fall baseball in Lexington, the 2007 squad took the field for the first time as a team. Since school began, the team has been practicing in groups of four and the scrimmage provided a good opportunity to see some of the newcomers together on the diamond.
Among the players to make an impression were Brock Wright (single, double), Chris Wade (triple), Matt McKinney (double), Tyler Howe (single, double) and Ryan Wilkes (two singles).
Several pitchers split time, with Andrew Albers (Jr., LHP) and Tommy Warner (Jr., LHP) starting and working two innings. Troy Ragle (Sr., LHP), Brock Baber (Jr., RHP), Dewayne Oxford (Sr., RHP), and Matt McGaha (Fr.-RS, LHP) each contributed two innings. Colby Brown (Fr., RHP), Chris Burton (Fr., RHP), Tyler Gatrell (Fr., RHP), and Chris Craycraft (Fr.-RS, RHP) each added one inning of work.
