Kentucky?s home men?s basketball game against Eastern Kentucky, originally scheduled for Dec. 29, has been moved to Dec. 30 at noon. The shift is to accommodate Wildcat fans wishing to attend both the basketball game and the Gaylord Hotel Music City Bowl, which pairs the UK football team against Clemson and is slated for 1 p.m. on Dec. 29 in Nashville.
?It?s important that we allow our fans the opportunity to attend both of these games,? Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart said. ?I appreciate both EKU and Rupp Arena working with us to make this work for our fans.?
Rupp Arena, which hosts New Years Eve with Montgomery Gentry and Friends the following night at 7:30 p.m., will have a particularly tight turnaround between events.
?The folks at Lexington Center really stepped up to assist us,? Barnhart said. ?This move wouldn?t have been possible without their help.?
