Kentucky Falls to No. 24 UCLA at ITA Kick-Off Weekend

ATLANTA – The No. 20 Kentucky women’s tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision against No. 24 UCLA on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats are now 3-1 on the young season, while the Bruins rise to 2-0 overall.

Kentucky fell behind early, dropping its doubles matches on courts one and two to surrender the doubles point. UK’s top-ranked duo of Mami Adachi and Aldila Sutjiadi picked up their first loss of the spring season, falling to ninth-ranked Jada Hart and Ena Shibahara, 6-3.

The Bruins would secure the victory with three straight wins in singles. Kristin Wiley topped Morgan Chumney on court six before 12th-ranked Sutjiadi suffered a 6-2, 6-3 loss to No. 4 Shibahara. Hart would clinch the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Justina Mikulskyte.

The Wildcats will look to bounce back in Sunday’s consolation match against Penn. The match is set for a 10 a.m. ET start.
