LEXINGTON, Ky.?The No. 34 University of Kentucky men?s tennis team will play host to its fourth ranked opponent in six matches when No. 63 Indiana travels to take on the Cats at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center on Thursday.

Kentucky (4-3, 0-0) has dropped three consecutive matches to ranked opponents, and is looking for their first win against the nation?s elite in the match-up on Thursday.

The blue and white used a two-win performance while hosting a doubleheader in their last time out. UK escaped with a 4-3 win over Ball State to open the doubleheader, needing the doubles point to prevail. Kentucky then earned a dominating 5-1 victory over the Butler Bulldogs in the nightcap. Senior Peter Bjork and juniors Marcus Sundh and Will Ward all earned two singles victories on the day. Sundh paces the Wildcats with a 6-1 singles clip in the young season.

Sophomore Bruno Agostinelli was named the SEC Player of the Week after he knocked off Ohio State?s and the nation?s top player in Steve Moneke in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, earlier in the week. It was only Moneke?s fifth loss of the season, and the first win in dual action for the Kentucky sophomore. Additionally, the undefeated Buckeyes had yet to yield a point in their six match unbeaten streak to open the season. Agostinelli was the first to achieve the feat. The Niagara Falls, Canada, native improved his singles? record to 2-2 on the year with a win over Butler?s James Low.

The last time out for the No. 63 Hoosiers of Indiana (8-1,0-0), they returned from a 14 day layoff from competition to sweep DePauw and Eastern Kentucky, both 7-0. The crimson and white are led by senior David Bubenicek, who is rated as the No. 48 singles player in the country.

First serve with the Hoosiers is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. EST. Complete results of the day?s coverage can be found at www.ukathletics.com.
