GAINESVILLE, Fla.— The University of Kentucky men?s tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 18 Florida in Gainesville on Easter Sunday.

The No. 2 doubles tandem of sophomores Kenny Hodge and Bruno Agostinelli were the only Wildcats to score a win over the home-standing Gators. Hodge and Agostinelli defeated Dan Cash and Billy Mulligan in dominating fashion. The Wildcats earned an 8-2 victory in the No. 2 hole.

Despite Kentucky?s valiant effort led by the No. 2 team, Florida took the opening doubles point by winning matches at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Senior Peter Bjork and junior Marcus Sundh fell to No. 6 Jesse Levin and Greg Ouellete and No. 1 for the deciding doubles point.

The match was won at the No. 6 singles position. Agostinelli and Sundh each faced a top-10 player in No. 3 Levin and No. 10 Ouellette. Agostinelli fell at No. 1 to Levin, 6-1, 6-1. Sundh dropped a closer 6-3, 6-4 decision to Ouellette.

With the loss, Kentucky falls to 13-12 overall and 3-7 in the conference.

The Blue and White return to the courts on Wednesday when they hit the road for their final non-conference action of the season. UK will take on No. 5 Notre Dame in South Bend. Complete results of the day?s match can be found at www.ukatlethics.com.
