UKTF Set To Compete At Arkansas Qualifier Friday
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky track and field program will be sending a pair of relay teams to Arkansas on Friday, February 17 to compete in the Arkansas Qualifier. The meet will be held inside the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The men’s team will consist of Wayne Lawrence Jr., Kennedy Lightner, Brandon Miller, and Justin Swann who will take part in the 4×400 relay at 7:55 p.m. E.T. / 6:55 p.m. C.T.
The women’s team includes Victoria Herman, Christal Mosley, Jenna Schwinghamer, and Sydney Steely who will compete in the DMR at 3:13 p.m. E.T. / 2:13 p.m. C.T.
This competition is the final opportunity for the relay teams to qualify for the NCAA Championships prior to the upcoming SEC Championships next week. The men currently sit outside of the top-16 in 22nd with a time of 3:06.41 and will need to overcome a 3:05.73 currently held by Brigham Young University.
The women, while currently sitting 10th in the DMR with a 10:58.26, have a large contingent of programs right on their heels also fighting for a qualifying place.
