The Kentucky women?s soccer team (7-6-2, 1-6-1 SEC) looks to ride the current momentum of a two-match unbeaten streak, as they travel to Starkville, Miss. to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs (6-9-1, 2-5-1).

The Wildcats enter the match on the outside of the SEC Tournament field looking in; UK currently sits in 11th place with four points. Only the top eight teams make the field. The Mississippi State Bulldogs occupy the eighth and final spot with seven points. A win on Thursday would earn Kentucky three points in the standings and a tie with the Bulldogs for eighth place with two matches remaining.

Last season Kentucky made a late run in the regular season to go from not qualifying for the tournament with two weeks remaining, to finishing second in the league before running the table and claiming the SEC Tournament title.

Kentucky owns a 6-2-0 all-time mark against Mississippi State including a 3-1-0 record in Starkville. The Wildcats defeated Mississippi St. last year in Lexington 3-0 and is unbeaten against the Bulldogs in three straight meetings.

UK enters the match off a 2-1 win over Arkansas and a 1-1 tie with then No. 24 LSU resulting in the Cats? longest unbeaten streak in the conference this season.

Kentucky finally notched a goal after posting a program record 416 consecutive minutes without finding the back of the nets. Kelsey Fenix recorded her first career multi-goal game against Arkansas, connecting on two penalty kicks. The goals were also her first of the season.

This weekend will be the home and away split for the Wildcats as UK travels toStarkville for a Thursday night affair before returning home to Lexington for Senior Day against Ole Miss.

Kickoff Thursday against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Live stats will be available on UKathletics.com.
