Kentucky takes on Texas Southern in its fourth-straight game at Rupp Arena, part of a season-opening, six-game homestand.
Kentucky posted an 80-54 win over Liberty Wednesday night following a two-week lay off, while Texas Southern has lost three in a row, most recently against Houston.
UK freshman Patrick Patterson recorded his second consecutive double-double, scoring 23 points while pulling down 10 rebounds against the Flames. It was his first career 20-10 game and the first for a UK freshman since Jason Parker notched 22 and 13 against USC in the 2001 NCAA Tournament.
The Wildcats are led by seniors Joe Crawford (15.3) and Ramel Bradley (14.7) in scoring, as they each approach the 1,000-point club. Crawford (946) is 54 points shy of the mark, while Bradley (892) needs 108. Patterson, who ranks third on the team in scoring (13.0), leads the club in rebounding, averaging 8.3 rpg.
