LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Kentucky gymnastics squad opened its 2008 season in exciting fashion on Saturday by hosting the annual Blue-White Meet. The Blue team defeated the White team 113.250-112.875 in Memorial Coliseum.

?Overall, I thought we performed well today,? UK head coach Mo Mitchell said. ?We still have a lot of work to do. I was happy that we were consistent with our routines. We didn?t have a lot of falls and that?s what we?re working towards this time of year. We just have some things we need to polish and clean up to get ready for Excite Night.?

Kentucky opens its 2008 regular-season slate on Saturday, Jan. 12 when it hosts Auburn for Excite Night. Meet time is slated for 5:45 p.m. EST in Memorial Coliseum with live statistics available at ukathletics.com.
