LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The University of Kentucky gymnastics team lost to No. 3 Florida at Memorial Coliseum Friday night. The Cats lost to the Gators 196.350-193.150.

Despite the loss, the Wildcats had many highs throughout the night. Several of the Cats scored new season high scores. Sophomore Hillary Ferguson landed a 9.825 on vault tying for team top honors with sophomore Emily Green, and also tying for second overall, falling to Florida Gator Ashley Reed?s 9.875. Sophomore Emilie Rymer tied her season high score on vault with a 9.775.

The high scores for Kentucky did not stop on vault. Rymer hit new season highs on the uneven bars, 9.800, the balance beam, 9.700, and all-around, 39.025. Her uneven bars score tied Rymer for third place overall with Florida?s Ashley Reed. Senior Crissy Cannon tied her season high on the uneven bars with a 9.750, while Emily Green hit another 9.750 on the beam. Green?s score won her team top honors.

Standout freshman, Andrea Mitchell, blew away her previous scores on the balance beam, hitting a 9.700. Mitchell?s score won her a new career high. This was the freshman?s second time competing in the all-around.

The team as a whole improved overall and on each event from last weeks meet against LSU in Baton Rouge. The Wildcats continue to look ahead to their next match which is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15, in Fayetteville, Ark. Kentucky (1-5 overall, 1-3 SEC) is set to face the No. 10 Lady Razorbacks (2-3, 0-2) at 8 p.m. (ET).
