Kentucky sophomore Jodie Meeks underwent successful surgery in Philadelphia, Pa., last Friday to repair a bilateral sports hernia.

Meeks’ surgery was performed by well-renowned surgeon Dr. Bill Meyers, who diagnosed the injury on Thursday.

Meeks played in eight games this season averaging 8.8 points in 23.2 minutes of action.

He is the second Wildcat to undergo surgery since the conclusion of the season. Freshman Patrick Patterson underwent surgery at the beginning of the month on his left ankle, to repair a stress fracture sustained during the season.
