Lexington, Ky. –

The UK women’s soccer team (0-1-0) hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats on Tuesday at Gettler Stadium.

The Wildcats are searching for their first win of the season after dropping their season opener last week to eighth ranked Texas, 3-1.

The Kentucky-Cincinnati series is dead-locked at 6-6-1, however the Cats are winless in the last two meetings. The Bearcats won the most recent contest in 2006, while the team’s fought to a 1-1 tied in the ’05 season.

The Wildcats are led offensively in the young season by sophomore Laura Novikoff, who tallied UK’s lone goal against the Longhorns, while junior defender Julie Hull recorded Kentucky’s lone assist.

The match represents the first of two contests against the Big East this year for UK. The Wildcats travel to West Virginia next week to take on the 15th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers. The Wildcats hold an 11-11-2 all-time mark against schools from the Big East.

Kickoff on Tuesday, is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the action on UKathletics.com.
