LEXINGTON, Ky. – Offensive guard Jess Beets and cornerback David Jones are the game captains for Saturday’s contest at Mississippi State, Coach Rich Brooks has announced.
Beets has started every game at right guard this season as the Wildcats lead the Southeastern Conference and rank No. 9 nationally in fewest quarterback sacks allowed. Jones has started every game at cornerback, totaling 21 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and four pass breakups.
Beets and Jones will join permanent captains Tony Dixon and Braxton Kelley at the pregame coin toss. Kentucky (5-3 overall, 1-3 SEC) will play at Mississippi State (3-5, 1-3) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
