LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s divers will vie for spots at the NCAA Championships this week as they compete at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships March 9-11 in Bloomington, Indiana. Hosted by Indiana University, the three-day meet represents the lone opportunity for divers to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
In all, four men and four women will represent the Wildcats at the meet. Courtney Clark, Kailey Francetic, Rebecca Hamperian, Stephen Jou and Seb Masterton will all compete on all three disciplines, while Emma Dellmore, Kevin Frebel, and Noah Richter will compete on both springboards.
The top 18 scorers from each opening round will advance to the finals, with the scores carrying over. The number of automatic qualifiers varies for each event/gender, and can be seen below. Additionally, if an individual qualifies in one event and finishes in the top-12 of another, he/she will be permitted to compete in the additional event at the NCAA Championships.
The complete list of divers selected to compete in the national championships will be released on March 12 with the conclusion of all five zone meets.
The NCAA Championships will be held in Indianapolis, with the women’s competition taking place from March 15-18 and the men’s from March 22-25. The women’s team has already qualified nine swimmers to the national meet, while the men’s team has one qualified swimmer.
