LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky baseball game Saturday with Bowling Green has been pushed back to a 2 p.m. ET first pitch at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the Big Blue Sports Network (radio), WGVN 1580-AM in Lexington and on UKathletics.com.
Due to inclement weather in the area Friday night, UK pushed the game back one hour to a 2 p.m. ET first pitch, in order to accommodate extra time needed to prepare the playing surface.
Kentucky (4-0) posted a 6-4 series-opening win over the Falcons Friday night, getting a pair of two-run homers from preseason All-American second baseman Chris Bisson and leftfielder Chad Wright. UK starter Alex Meyer picked up his second win of the season, tossing 5.2 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out six.
UK will start freshman southpaw Taylor Rogers (1-0, 0.00 ERA) in the game against BGSU Saturday. Rogers was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week in his first week in college baseball, after tossing 7.2 shutout innings against West Virginia for a win in his collegiate debut. Rogers will face BGSU freshman Michael Frank (0-0, 0.00 ERA), who pitched four strong innings against Louisville last weekend, allowing one run and two hits.
